Mix Oil And Water For Skin Care In Winter

Most skin damage occurs because of dryness, specifically in winter season. In the winter, the air lacks the same humidity as in the summer. The atmosphere contributes to dehydrating the skin at a faster rate during this time.

Most lotions and creams contain an oily agent or a watery agent or both. Most creams and lotions vary based on the amount of these two agents. So you can use a mixture of oil, like olive oil and water as a good skin lotion in winter. Apply this mixture thoroughly on your skin. This will protect your skin from dryness. Do not use any creams and lotions with irritating chemicals.

Here are some tips for caring your skin.

  1. Protect yourself from the sun:
Avoid the sun during high-intensity hours. Apply sunscreen of SPF 30, 20 minutes before going outdoors. Cover yourself with clothing, hat and sun glasses.

New sunscreen ingredient fights skin cancer

A new sunscreen ingredient that actively repairs sunburnt skin and helps prevent the onset of skin cancer may soon be on the market.

According to the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, researchers from Bath University in the United Kingdom are currently testing prototypes of the ingredient in the laboratory but expect to be trialling the ingredient with volunteers in the next two to three years.

Unlike conventional sunscreen lotions which merely act as a filter for UVA and UVB sunlight, the new ingredient reduces the inflammation and pain that goes with sunburn. It also prevents the build up of harmful sunlight-generated free radicals, which can lead to the development of skin cancers.

To lower your risk of skin cancer this summer:

Spend time in the shade between 11am and 3pm
Aim to cover up with a t-shirt, hat and sunglasses
Use a factor 15 - 30+ sunscreen

Fair Complexion Recipes and Tips : Improve Your Complexion

Are you concerned about your complexion? For a beautiful personality, complexion is not important. There are many beautiful women who have dark complexion and there are many "not so beautiful" women who have fair complexion.

Many fair complexion people wish to change their fair skin to a dark one. Similarly, dark complexion people, mainly girls want to get a fair complexion.

Poly writes,
"I was having a fair complexion when I was a child. Now I am 14 years old and my complexion has become dark. Please suggest me to get my fair complexion back."

The complexion often become dark if one sits or moves in direct sun light for prolonged period of time. Sun tans the body skin. The complexion can be improved by using natural household things. I suggested the following remedy to Poly:

Fair look, oily skin:

Apply a mixture of equal amounts of lemon and cucumber juice on the face and whole body. Leave it for 15 minutes and wash off.

Fair look, dry skin:

Apply a mixture of equal amounts of cucumber juice and honey on the face and whole body. Leave it for 15 minutes and wash off.

About 2 weeks later, Poly thanked me and informed me, "My complexion is now glowing. All my friends ask me the secret. You are like an Angel for me."

Note that if your complexion is dark by birth, then it cannot be changed.

Try the above remedy to improve your complexion. There are more tips to improve your complexion.

What is Beauty?

The phrase "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" suggests that beauty is wholly subjective. "Beauty is the phenomenon of the experience of pleasure, through the perception of balance and proportion of stimulus. It involves the cognition of a balanced form and structure that elicits attraction and appeal towards a person, animal, inanimate object, scene, music, idea, etc.", says en.wikipedia.org/wiki/beauty.

Beauty is different for different person. Beauty can be simply related to someones looks or it can be inside based. Beauty is different to different people.
  1. Beauty is the purity of heart. If you are big hearted, you are beautiful.
  2. If it is not ugliness, i.e. if it does not stimulate displeasure and engender a deeper negative perception of the object, then it is beauty.
  3. Natural beauty is folded within petals of a rose.
  4. Beauty is an expression of balance, harmony and growth.
  5. Beauty and Life are synonymous to each ohter. Beauty symbolises life.
  6. Whatever brings a sweet smile onour face is beauty.
  7. Beauty is not necessarily something you see. Even a blind person can see beauty in a person's voice or touch.
Several questions come to mind naturally.
  1. Which is better? Inner Beauty or outer beauty?
  2. Is Beauty a gift or curse?
  3. Is Beauty dangerous?
  4. Is Beauty important to you?
  5. Is Beauty essential for love?
  6. What is more important Beauty or brain?
  7. Is Beauty more important than knowledge?

We will focus on some of these questions in future.
